At Beach Braces we use American Orthodontics Empower^® brackets. Empower’s self ligating technology uses integrated clips that are micro-engineered within each bracket to hold arch wires in place. This eliminates the need for traditional rubber ties (ligatures) that can stain and wear out over time. Rubber ligatures are also a known bacteria trap. Cleaning your teeth and your braces is easier when you have self-ligating braces. These self-ligating clips also allow our team to make quicker and easier wire adjustments, which can mean less time in the chair! Finally, the friction between self-ligating brackets and the wire is lower than traditional braces, meaning arguably shorter overall treatment duration!
