Come See Us For Your Consultation! No Referral Necessary!
“Your first visit will give you a chance to see our office, meet our team, and undergo a detailed
assessment by Dr. Dask, including a preliminary discussion of treatment options, if appropriate.”
Our goal is to give you the healthy, straight, beautiful smile that you’ve always wanted in the fastest and most efficient way possible. We understand that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big decision, and we respect your reasons for wanting to improve the way you look and feel. We will work with you every step of the way to make sure that your orthodontic care is as rewarding as possible.
Every smile starts with an initial consultation!
Your initial consultation will give you the opportunity to meet Dr. Dask, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete orthodontic examination, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs.
During your initial consultation, we will:
- Review your dental and medical history forms
- Provide a complete oral exam, with X-rays if indicated, to determine what your specific needs are
- Discuss possible treatment options
- Discuss all financial information, insurance options, and payment plans
Our team will be glad to answer any other questions you may have and will make sure that you are as comfortable as possible. Please contact our practice to schedule your initial consultation.
What happens after the initial consultation?
You’re one step closer to achieving the smile you’ve always wanted! After your initial consultation, provided you are ready for treatment, we usually schedule an appointment for diagnostic records (photographs, impressions and specialized digital x-rays). This appointment generally takes less than half an hour and is followed by a Treatment Conference, where all the treatment options are reviewed in detail, including pros and cons and risks of each option. We will provide all of the information that you need to make an informed decision on which treatment is right for you. Financial information, insurance options, and payment plans will also be reviewed in detail and the appropriate forms will be provided to you for your insurance. This appointment takes about an hour.
Once the treatment plan has been determined, the next appointment can be the one where your treatment starts and your appliance is delivered to you! This appointment can vary in duration depending on the plan selected.
Scheduling Appointments
Visiting the office about every six to ten weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. Our practice will work with you to make sure that your appointments are as convenient as possible.
We fully understand that many of our patients are adolescents and may wish to be seen after school. Our schedule has been designed for the convenience of our patients, with some very specific objectives:
- To accommodate patients at their appointed times
- To allow our communications throughout treatment to be as thorough as possible, and as frequent as may be needed
- To minimize the need for excessive time away from school and/or work
With the above in mind, we have designed a schedule whereby the vast majority of the appointments can be scheduled during more desirable times, and longer or more involved procedures are performed during reserved times throughout the morning, or early afternoon hours. By doing this, we do not reserve an entire afternoon for one or two patients but rather accommodate as many families as possible for after-school appointments. If you prefer to come to the office during a quieter time, you may schedule your appointments during school hours.
Late or Missed Appointments
We understand that “life happens”! If you’re running late or need to reschedule, please let us know, and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. Our goal in rescheduling appointments is to keep treatment progressing and on time. We will do our best to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible. However, in order to avoid a delay in treatment, it may become necessary to reschedule an after-school or work appointment during school or work hours. Missed appointments, waiting a month for late appointments, or numerous appointment changes will inevitably result in an extension of your treatment time.
Please try to provide 24 hours notice if you wish to reschedule an appointment
When you’re ready to schedule your first appointment, contact our practice, and our friendly scheduling coordinator will assist you. We’re looking forward to working with you.
Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment
It is especially important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months, during your orthodontic treatment, for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure that you are receiving the best care possible.
