We offer a variety of payment options and plans to fit the needs and insurance plans of our patients.

 Treatment Fees

Orthodontic fees are determined at the initial consultation appointment if a patient is deemed ready to begin. The fee is individualized, and is based on the complexity of the orthodontic problem and the types of appliances required to correct them. There may be multiple ways to treat a single problem.

Most patients choose to take advantage of an interest-free payment plan to handle the fee. You will have the opportunity to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. For your convenience, we accept cash, personal cheques, VISA, MasterCard, and Interac payments.

 Does my insurance cover orthodontics?

Many people have insurance that will cover part of their orthodontic treatment. Terms of orthodontic insurance coverage vary among insurance companies and individual policies. The insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. Insurance payments will be paid to you directly from your insurance carrier after they have received confirmation that you have made your payment. We do not accept direct payment from your insurance carrier; however, we will gladly assist you in making your claims.

In order to ensure that you will be reimbursed appropriately for your orthodontic fees, it is imperative that you contact your insurance carrier to confirm your (or your child’s) eligibility, as well as to determine the exact specifics of your coverage.

Here are some of the questions to ask regarding the specifics of your coverage:

  • Do I have orthodontic coverage under my dental insurance policy?
  • Are there any age limitations or restrictions for the orthodontic coverage?
  • What percentage of the orthodontic fees is covered?
  • Is there a lifetime maximum?
  • What is the amount covered by my benefits for orthodontic diagnostic records?
  • Will you provide a lump-sum reimbursement if the fee is paid in full at the start of treatment?

If you are contacting your insurance company by phone, we recommend that you note the date, time, and name of the insurance representative that confirmed your coverage. However, you must submit the Certified Specialist in Orthodontics Standard Information Form (“pre-determination form”) that we will provide you with when your treatment plan is decided upon, to notify your insurance company of the treatment and to ensure accurate processing of your future claims.

You should receive a written response and explanation of benefits within 2-4 weeks to confirm the specifics of your orthodontic coverage.
