– Make sure the clinician is a licensed specialist in Canada with Certification from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada
– Membership with the National organization (Canadian Association of Orthodontists – CAO) is a plus
– Make sure you feel comfortable working with them! Ease of communication is important. So is location and proximity to the office.

Our orthodontist, Dr. Dask, specializes in alignment of teeth and correction of bite problems (malocclusion) to help patients achieve a healthy and beautiful smile. Not only does Dr. Dask have an MSc degree and over twenty years of experience as an orthodontist, he also continues to be an active researcher in the field of orthodontics. His main area of focus is outcomes of treatment for patients with cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial anomalies.  Dr. Dask is Associate Professor at the Post-Graduate Orthodontic Program, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. For 18 years he held a Staff appointment at SickKids hospital, where he is Currently an Honorary Staff member. In the past he also served as Coordinator of Orthodontics at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, and he taught Orthodontics internationally, at the University of Nijmegen, in The Netherlands.

Dr. Dask really enjoys meeting and interacting with people of many ages and various backgrounds on a daily basis. He feels fortunate and privileged to be able to help his patients improve their quality of life and self-esteem. He tries to make sure that his patients feel at ease when they are at the office.
